Wayne L. Iverson, M.D. is a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in the newly drawn California Congressional District 52. Dr. Iverson was born in Evanston, IL to Iver and Dorothy Iverson. He was raised in Arlington Heights, IL and graduated from Wheeling High School in Wheeling, IL. He is married and has three children. Education Dr. Iverson completed the internship program at Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago, IL in 1975 and completed the residency in Internal Medicine at Scripps Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in San Diego, CA in 1977. He was Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1977. Dr. Iverson has also been awarded a Masters of Business Administration degree from National University in San Diego in 1988.
Dr. Wayne Iverson is a member of the American Medical Association, California Medical Association, Association of American Phyicians and Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. In 1985 Dr. Iverson received the prestigous award "Young Internist of the Year" from the American Society of Internal Medicine for his work related to managed care and health plans. He has been a consultant to large hospital chains for utilization management and healthplan development and healthcare contracting. In addition to his medical professional activities, he has extensive experience in computer science and was formerly Sun Certified in System Administration and Network Administration. He has done public speaking on the subject of HIPAA Security and had training in computer security. He is a member of the International System Security Association. Dr. Wayne Iverson's business interests include real estate and he currently holds a Real Estate Brokers license in the State of California.
